Agri Export Zones (AEZs) has been introduced to promote the export of agricultural produce/ products from the country. The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Government of India for setting up of Agri Export Zones in Jammu and Kashmir covering the districts of Srinagar, Anantnag, Kupwara, Budgam, Pulwama, Doda, Poonch, Udhampur, Rajouri and Kathua for promoting export of fresh and processed walnuts. This MOU entails a number of fiscal/financial incentives and administrative arrangements to facilitate processing of walnuts and their export. The following expressions of interest from interested entrepreneurs in respect of below mentioned facilities are solicited. The entrepreneurs may apply for setting up of one or more units, the detailed Project Reports for which shall be got prepared by the Nodal Agency (Directorate of Horticulture Planning and Marketing) in consultation with the selected entrepreneurs on request.
